Mom life tips

It’s been a while since I last posted a blog. My son turned 4 and we had his birthday party last weekend. Parties are always crazy. From planning in advance to trying to do all the DIY ideas the day of the party. Plus, kids don’t really care how many decorations are up. If the food is themed with the decorations. They don’t even care if you have planned games for everyone. All of the party craziness is for the adults. Aka MOMS. Dads don’t care what parties look like or how they turn out. As long as their kids are happy that’s all that matters. So, why do moms drive themselves crazy to plan the perfect party? Not in just parties too, we drive ourselves crazy trying to be perfect moms. The last 2 weeks I’ve been taking it easy. I didn’t pack my Husband’s lunch or my daughters almost all week. I didn’t do the dishes till I ran out. Also, dinner has been the easiest 20 min dinner meals. So, that is the reason I’ve been absent from my blog. I just needed a mom break after the party craziness. All moms need to take a break. To see that it’s ok to have dirty dishes for one night, it’s ok to relax in your pajamas for a day, it’s ok to let your kids eat school food, it’s ok to not be perfect.

Mom cooking tips

Some days I don’t want to worry about cooking dinner. It can be such a hassle. With all the prepping, cleaning up afterwards, and the piles of dishes. Plus, kids asking, “Is dinner ready yet?”, every 2 minutes! It can make you want to pull your hair out. I’ve finally found a solution to my “lazy” dinner days. My crockpot has been amazing to have. The mess isn’t nearly as big. I use less dishes. Plus, you just throw it in and wait. Perfect! I think every mom should have a crockpot. My favorite crockpot dinner is chili. The only “cooking” involved is browning the ground beef and chopping up the bell peppers. Once the ground beef is cooked I add it to the crockpot. On top of the meat I add 2 cans dark kidney beans, 1 can pinto beans, 1 can tomatoes diced, 1 can tomatoe sauce, bell peppers to liking, 1 pack of chili seasoning, and 2 cups of water. I let that cook for 8-9 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high. ┬áIt’s a very mild chili. Great for kids who can’t handle spices food. If you don’t have a crockpot you should get one and try out this recipe. Enjoy!

Mom makeup tips

As a SAHM, it gets hard to buy name brand makeup. Majority of the time I have to settle for drugstore makeups. I have found that there is a large amount of good quality makeups that are affordable. My favorite part of makeup is eyeshadow. The colors make your eyes pop and your face come alive. One brand that I’ve been using frequently is Wet n Wild. They have really stepped up their makeup quality. Most of the eyeshadows that I have tried turned out great. I love the Au Natural palette, 754A.// It’s beautiful and the pigment is great for the price. Also, the Fergie palette, A226 is nice.// found that some of the colors were close in shade but for only $6 I think it’s worth it. I personally like the Au Natural palette over the Fergie palette. Over all, both are affordable and worth the money. I did try the glitter single in silver from Wet n Wild. It’s awful. The glitter didn’t want to go on my brush. I had to use my finger and it still didn’t come off much. It’s not even worth the dollar. So, I would stay away from the cheap glitter they sell. If you are looking for an eyeshadow palette that’s less than $10 I recommend you check out the ones I listed or the other Wet n Wild palettes. Enjoy.

First blog post

Welcome to my blog. This is my first attempt so as time goes on I will get better with it. Ive been a stay at home mom for a little over a year. I have 2 beautiful children. My daughter,Mila, and my son, Aiden. Before I became a SAHM my last job was being a court clerk. It was a great job and I truly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my urge to be a SAHM was greater. My husband and I talked about it for months before finally deciding we had to give it a try. For the first 7 months I babysat my nephew to bring in extra income to help adjust us. It took so much faith to take that big step. We put all our trust in God to provide us a way. For any other mothers or fathers thinking of becoming a stay at home parent pray about it. First tip, if you have anyone who does bookkeeping or finances you could have them check and see if it’s a possibility. They can also help you take steps into being financially ready to be a SAHM. Please continue following my blog to see more tips from me and also my journey as a SAHM. Enjoy your day.
